Vermeer and Caravaggio used cutting edge contemporary science and technology to replicate reality in an intensely captivating way, this is a known fact. I do the same with AI.
With the help of Prof. Philip Steadman, whose historical and architectural investigations were used to reverse-engineer Vermeer’s camera, I built a working replica, now on permanent exhibit at the Montreal Art Center. It produces the most exquisite transformations of visual reality, making the colors deep and jewel-like, and conserving the light intensity and dynamic range the eye can see. As Goethe said, the image is infused with a faint lard-like bloom, and it looks like an upside-down living breathing Vermeer.
